I have to agree that chopped and screwed shouldn't be played with every song, it just doesn't go. for the most part I only like it when certain hooks are chopped and screwed while the rest of the song is at regular pace. on the other hand, i have to disagree the statement on how it didnt get out of texas because a lot of mainstream started chopping and screwing their hooks, mostly southern hip hop/rap anyway

Not necessarily; Chopped and Screwed is used outside of Texas, but it's not as huge anywhere else as it is here in Texas. Same thing with Hyphy in the Bay Area. I know people like David Banner and other artist released some of their albums chopped and screwed.

On a random note, David Banner is a huge fan of Bay Area rap and Hyphy lol.
Mainstream TV where? I've yet to see any of those here in DC.
Only 4 or 5 of those songs made it to national tv (I should say got heavy rotation on tv by MTV/BET), inlcuding Blow the Whistle by Too Short, That Go by Keak Da Sneak, Stunna Shades by the Federation, Vans by the Pack, and Muscle Cars by E40.
i dont think houston is as versatile as the bay area when it comes to makin music.. u can for the most say houston has a certain sound.. whereas the bay area rap scene is a mix from one extreme to the next.. nerd rap, pimp sht, conscious, mob music.. bay area >
