I just can't stand when people trash talk a city pointing out its flaws without pulling out the other cities perminant record... I tried to be equally positive to both, but I'm a minority in C-D when it comes to that.
That's what I try to do, I know exactly how you feel and then when things get heated I defend my hometown then it seems like I'm a NYC-head when I'm not.
I'm in High School too .

I root for the Nets (Knicks suck ).
Well I'm a minor NJ-head, but dissing a place for NJ's better doesn't and never will work. Same goes for the rest of the country... And yes, the nets are a tad bit better compared to the Knicks most seasons.
What grade are you going into?

I agree putting down a place to make their own seem better makes someone seem ignorant.
It's a gift we have.
But seriously, that's the problem on a lot of threads. You never get a good response because people have a great satisfaction by putting one city down to make their city look better.. It ends up just looking like a native being an embarrassment to their own city.
I just post a lot about NJ/NYC because it's what i'm really familiar with and love, it's not so much bias.. i just don't travel much, i'm still in High School believe it or not haha.

Well I gotta say I'm impressed with the maturity that both of you show here. There are several posters that are much older than you two who could really learn from how you guys behave. No one should blame either of you for coming to your cities' defense when people start talking too much trash; that's just a natural response and I do the exact same thing.
And I second that, Knicks do suck! lol
I've liked the Nets for quite a while since I'm a Jason Kidd fan. He may be gone now, but the team is still all good with me.
LOLOL@ claiming another city's teams, like the genius that was sayin the statue of liberty was a part of the jersey skyline.
its the new york giants btw, not the jersey city giants.
oakland ftw
Um ... the Statue of Liberty IS in Jersey City's skyline. Just because our neighbor, NYC, claimed it as theirs, doesn't mean it's not in JC's skyline. Look at the pics. Lady Liberty is directly next to Jersey City, and hence, a part of our skyline.
Not a problem at all---its not like you lied or anything. Oakland has a huge problem and we are not addressing it adequately enough

It's like JC, just avoid the crime ridden neighborhoods and I'll be fine.
Pretty much the same as here.

OMG..people in the Bay Area are just plain evil when it comes to Oakland-LOL
Bay Area people on C-D are much better informed than their neighbors. I don't think I've ever heard one positive response in my entire life when Im about the Bay and the topic of where I live comes into the conversation.
Usually there's an awkward silence or some really snide remark.."why?" or "seen any killings lately?"--
Um, Oakland is only a couple of miles from San Francisco, which also has its own football and baseball team. So thats a bad argument...
OK, I'll play.
Look at how many pro sports teams NY has: Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Giants (although they play in NJ), Jets (although they play in NJ). That is 5.
Now look at how many pro teams SF has: Giants, 49ers. That is 2.
And NJ STILL has 2 pro teams of it's own (Devils and Nets) on top of NY's massive number of teams. Now that I've educated you on how much bigger and more significant the NYC/NJ metro area is compared to SF's ... carry on

Ugh, you really wanna keep the discussion down at this level? What does SF have to do with this?? If you're gonna go there, then look at SF's metro vs. NYC's metro. Niners/Giants/Raiders/A's/Warriors/Sharks (that is 6) vs. Yankees/Mets/Giants/Jets/Knicks/Nets/Devils/Islanders/Rangers (that is 9). It exceeds SF's metro in teams by 33% in a metro that spans 4 states and has 300% the population of SF's (7.2 million vs. 22 million). And the difference primarily has to do with the fact that hockey is a bigger deal out there than it is here, so you guys have 3 hockey teams. In the most massive metro region in the nation. Big whoop.
So now that I've educated you on how unimpressive the difference here is and how well SF matches up considering how diminutive it is in comparison....carry on
