"Sterile" cities are usually growing cities,Cities where prosperity may be evident, but lack huge scale urbanity.Such as pedestrian walking, outdoor activity, and even some grit that gives and urban area some "flavor"or grit. What cities do you think are "sterile"?Those with little historical significance.

I should have added L.A. too. Some people say it very "plastic".I'm not a fan ,but I can see arguments either FOR and AGAINST.

That's b/c of SOME of the people not the city itself. LA is very gritty and hardly "sterile" at all. Orange County could be described as sterile b/c of how new, cookie cutter, and clean it is but sure as hell not LA.

LA has all of those things you mentioned, I don't get how anyone would consider it "sterile" by your definition here.
