So we have finally given up on the Nashville job market and are all in for the relocation. My first choice is Atlanta but my husband's is probably Houston. We have two small children, 3 and 1. Just looking for some advice.

Atlanta Pros:
  • Closer to my family and the children's grandparents
  • Bigger market
  • We love the city and are very familiar with it.
  • It's close to so many other things, beaches, mountains, etc.
Houston Pros:
  • Have great connections in my husband's field and could probably find a job quickly.
  • We have some family down there that we're close to, but they can't take the place of grandparents
I guess it comes down to a quick job vs. staying close to family. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Just stop with the rubbish about Houston/Texas, when you've admitted you've never even been.
No wonder your last screen name was banned and you have to come back with a new one.

Houston is larger than Atlanta.

If I were you, I'd try to make Atlanta work if possible simply because of family and grandparents.

Family is definitely a plus, but in this current economic climate, it doesn't amount to very much in the absence of a (good) job. I say let the job decide.
