i voted oregon, because its bigger and has better weather. both portlands are very liberal and pretty hip though.
and i would give portland, maine the edge for architecture.

I voted Portland, Maine. Smaller, yet big enough to have everything you need. Plus it is a very short drive to Boston if you really need the fumes and congestion of a larger city.
