I'd rather live in CS and love the backdrop of the mountains. I plan on possibly moving there. Both cities underachieve for their skyline but if you base it strictly on building, I think Wichita wins. CS is a wonderful city but the skyline is weak.

CS looses badly.... if you are actually talking about the skyline. I don't count the mountain backdrop... it isn't part of the skyline of the city.... If you put Wichita in the same spot, it wins easily.

Just look at CS looking AWAY from the mountains:

Colorado Springs

Now compare that to this:

Wichita

Wichita has more historic infill around the skyline as well, in 1930 the population of Wichita was over 100,000 where as CS was around 30,000. CS didn't get over 100k until around 1970, when Wichita was over 250k.

At street level Wichita really takes an advantage.

They're about the same. Neither have noteworthy skylines for their size.

Wichita may have slightly more density but not by that much. Both are incredibly suburban.

Uh so?

They are similar and that is why they are being compared against one another. Should no cities be mentioned but NYC and Chicago?

I don't know why you would come to a comparison thread and instead of comparing just cast judgement upon them? Seems like you could have saved the key-strokes and had a more positive effect.

My vote goes to Wichita. "I'm going to Wichita. Far from this opera forevermore." -White Stripes/Seven Nation Army (I think of that song every time I'm in ICT)

Wichita might not be in the prettiest area, but the skyline blows CS away.
