Love the pics posted of Chi-town & NYC by everyone though! Gorgeous!!
Two reasons. I don't think downtown Orlando is a joke by any means, especially when people have listed Scranton and other towns in this thread. I obviously know it is nothing like downtown Chicago or NY but I have no hangups on our downtown. Peace.

I just spent a few weeks with people who live in downtown Chicago as they visited me in manhattan. I believe the phrase, "not even close" was used to describe how much bigger and busier NY is to Chicago. I dont know about everybody esle, but Im getting sick of chicago's "its not as big, but somehow more impressive" inferiority complex.

I believe the phrase, "you're a dumbass," is being used to describe you because you care enough to even say anything about something so stupid.

NY is much busier than Chicago. There's more bars, restaurants, people, etc. I think some people prefer Chicago because you can get all of the same amenities, for a much better price, and with a better quality of living (larger apartment, shorter commute time, cheaper entertainment, etc) than in New York City.

It's moreso about what your preferences are and which things you value more.
