Santa Monica all the way, the California lifestyle is so much better than what can be found in Florida.

Don't know about Miam Beach but I do prefer Miami Beach.
BTW, is this new poll just a way to figure out how to make California win since it's losing the Venice Beach comparison? Is there that much insecurity?

LOL!!! Like I posted in the Venice-Miami Beach thread, this is a TRULY more valid comparison. I happen to like BOTH places quite a bit. I really don't care which city wins.....

Two great coastal cities no doubt. I prefer the Art Deco of South Beach and the other diversified architecture of Sunny Isles and Bal Harbour.

Ughh I voted for Miami Beach. I prefer Cali/LA as a whole, though Santa Monica is just full of old crappy apartments from the 70's that have never been renovated thanks to our wonderful rent control policies. IF those were lifted, SaMo would definitely have a massive boom and become a bombing resort town like Miami Beach.
