Top 5 no. Not even close Top 40, it has an argument. I don't see how Miami is that high. But it's not a big deal. Houston just has to put in more work. Certainly has the potential to do so.

As a note to the list...how is Miami ahead of Boston?
Yes because Oil is absolutely nothing. Those stupid useless ports, and that annoying wasteless NASA. Houston is so lame and crappy; it needs to be nuked. Besides what's the worst that could happen???

this list is very politically slanted given brussels and dc in top 10ish. I am skeptical about brussels being so high.

That was probably the biggest surprise on the list to me. Along with Hong Kong being ranked so low.

Moscow at 22 for world influence. This list is ridiculous.

I find it so funny that people scoff at the only statisical lists available that measure TANGIBLE data to rank city influence and wealth simply because they don't jive with their own perceptions. Do I need to explain why miami is high? It is the american financial gateway and capitol to latin american financials. Why is Hong Kong not as high as you thought? because their market is MUCH less sophisticated than those found in NY and London. Access to liquidity, bond markets, legal council, (I could go on and on) is DECADES away from being close to NYC and London.

Thank you, a voice of reason in here Some posters don't bother to let little things like facts get in the way of their personal perceptions.

As has Houston. Seriously, what is your beef with the city. I honestly don't care if Houston is on the list to begin with though and it adds to the point that the city can be viewed as underrated. But I look at it as a positive in that Houston has more work to do. But what is the attack on the city?
