Hello. I'm currently living in an apartment in North Royalton with my boyfriend. We've finally decided to buy a house for the first time. He grew up on the west side and I grew up on the east side. We both work downtown. We're looking for something in the $150,000 range, possibly a little more. We don't have any children and don't plan on having any for the next few years, so school district is not a concern (although it is something to think about for resell value). This will be our "starter" home; we'll probably move when and if we have children when they become old enough to attend school. Since we're both in our twenties, a city close to night life would be nice. We also like to exercise, so being by the MetroParks would be a plus. We also don't want to spend a lot of money doing renovations on a house to make it livable. I , personally, need to feel safe when home alone. Knowing these charactistics, any suggestions on where to start looking? My initial list is Lakewood, Fairview Park, Rocky River, Parma, North Olmsted or Westpark. Where can I get the most bang for my buck?

Thanks!

The most "bang for your buck" would be Westpark, Lakewood, and Parma in that order.

The "youngest" suburb with the most nightlife would for sure be Lakewood.

The best access to the Metro Parks would probably be Fairview Park, but if you have to drive to them anyways I don't see the major benefit.

Based off this, I would say either Lakewood or Westpark.
