Urban Active at Legacy Village I've heard is nice. Although it is expensive they sometimes have really incredible membership deals. It's very upscale I think. I know they have a pool, and a cafe. You could also look into the JCC in Beachwood, and there are of course Bally fitnesses at Severance and a few other locations.

The two "trendy" health clubs on the east side are Urban Active in Lyndhurst and Lifetime Fitness in Beachwood. Lifetime is massive and probably offers more selection than Urban Active. The flip side is that it might be too large and expensive for many people. Urban Active is large, just not to the same extent as Lifetime. And as mentioned, Urban Active usually offers better deals especially on employee discounts. I don't recommend any of the Bally's or Fitworks locations.

They both have child care options. One thing that i forgot to mention is that Lifetime is open 24 hours. That's certainly an added benefit if you work some unusual hours.

I'd also add that Urban Active can sometimes be misleading when it comes to to memberships. They aren't always the most responsive to membership issues, etc. Their contracts aren't very easy to read or follow. I'm not as familiar with Lifetime's. That seems to be an issue with almost every health club though. I've had similar issues with Fitworks and Bally's in the past.

Is Lifetime Fitness in the mammoth building off of Richmond Road? It looks incredible whatever club it is.

That's it. Across from UH Ahuja and adjacent to the future Eaton HQ campus.

Another option might be the Hillcrest YMCA, located near the intersection of Richmond and Mayfield in Lyndhurst.

That is an option but the Hillcrest Y is extremely tiny especially when compared to a Lifetime or Urban Active. It just doesn't have as many options and is pretty cramped and has bad circulation. It's almost a constant steam room. If you have young kids that like to play and workout, then the Y can be ideal. For adults though it's not a great choice unless you are on a tight budget or are just looking for some basic workout facilities.

urban active has childcare.

for a membership, you can talk them down to $30 per month for 2 people, if you pay in advance.

they also have a westside location at crocker park in westlake that you may use with your membership
