Since I'll be in Solon this summer with my 10 year-old, I'd like to know about any decent water parks within about 2 hrs. of the city. Outdoors is preferred.

Thanks!

Have you ever been to Cedar Point? They have an attached water park (soak city) plus water rides in the main park. I loved it when I was 10. I'd imagine he'd also like the roller coasters as well.

Within 2 hours? That's a huge area my friend.
Let's see...

We got one of these about an hour away:
Kalahari Waterparks, Resorts & Conventions*•*Sandusky, Ohio

and one of these:
Family Indoor Waterpark-Great Wolf Lodge-Water Park Resorts

and:
Home

90 minutes the other way, just across the PA border, we have:
https://www.splashlagoon.com/

Which is itself close to one of the nicest parks on the shore of Lake Erie:
http://www.presqueisle.org/

and about 90 minutes south of us, next door to the USA's #1 ranked Zoo is:
Zoombezi Bay Waterpark - Home

There's also Waldameer in Erie which is an old fashioned family run amusement/water park. It sits at the entrance to Presque Isle. You can pay by the ride or get a day pass. Waldameer can be a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the big corporate parks.

Also worth mentioning but probably too far to meet your travel criteria is Sandcastle near Pittsburgh. It's a very short jaunt to Downtown from there and can make for a nice weekend getaway.
