I was really hoping to find an apartment downtown with wood floors or even laminate for under 1K, but that seems impossible to find. I've never really lived anywhere without hardwoods. I really hate carpeting. I also don't mind if they're on the small side, but I'm not sure if I can live in a studio? I see that the Sphere, Crittaden, Statler Arms, Reserve Square, Residences at Hannah all look pretty nice with options under 1K, but no wood/laminate floors?

I'm going to grad school at CSU in the autumn and I am currently a part time intern downtown, so my dad will be paying. Do any of these allow co-signers?

Any advice would be appreciated. I really would like to live Downtown as I'm working there and will be going to school there. Thanks!

Have you considered university commons on E. 30th between Euclid and Chester?

Best of luck in your search, but I think you're going to have a hard time finding anything at all nice downtown for less than $1000, unless you go very small.

I have a friend that lives there. It's not as central as I'd like. I'm selling my car as I don't really use it. But this is being off of Euclid is nice with the HealthLine. But they're pretty decent.

Yeah I might have to consider a roommate or kick in some of my own money to pay for a nicer place. Statler Arms is overall really nice, but it doesn't look like they have any units with wood floors. It looks to be $875 a month for a decent size apartment. I don't care about having granite or SS appliances. I literally just hate carpeting. So gross :/.

We do not have carpet in our house for the same reason...allergies and so on!

I wonder if it's a noise problem so they do not allow hardwood floors. I've met a few Statler Arm residents and they all like it there. Location is very good for the money. Funny- it is an older building, but no hardwood floors. I prefer older buildings that are full of character vs. new and "NY vibe" places. A roommate might be the way to go.

It probably has hardwood floors. I wonder if they would remove the carpeting in a suite with worn carpeting to accommodate a prospective resident. You are correct that carpeting mutes noise in a unit below one with hardwood floors. I know there are high-rise condos in Cleveland that ban hardwood floors.

Yeah. I really liked the apartment I had in edgewater, but I really want something downtown. I've heard good things about Statler Arms. I just wonder if they allow cosigners.

Update: I found one at the Lofts at the Rosetta Center for about 800$. Little small at 600 square feet, but east 4th management seems to have a handful of apartments under 1k.

That's a great deal and close to everything downtown! Some nights might be a bit noisy...not sure how sound travels from below, but I often thought of trying to rent a place for a month right there.
