Perhaps you lucked out. If the Indians keep winning, you'll be able to see them tie the MLB record for most wins without a loss, even though the New York Giants record of 26 consecutive wins in 1916 included a tie (before the advent of lighted MLB stadiums).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...Regular_season

The Indians currently hold the records for the longest AL and Expansion Era (since 1961) win streaks, and will increase the record with each consecutive win.

<<Following their 5-3 win over the Tigers on Wednesday at Progressive Field, the Indians passed the 2002 A's for the longest winning streak in the Expansion Era (since 1961). The Tribe also set an AL record with its 21st straight win.>>

http://m.indians.mlb.com/news/articl...turn-thursday/

Regardless, the Indians 26th consecutive victory on Tuesday would represent a new AL record (and of the Expansion Era), and tie the NY Giants' longest consecutive MLB win record inclusive of a tie game. And if the Tribe wins on Tuesday, tying the Giants' all-time record, perhaps you could buy tickets for Wednesday as well. You would still be ahead on the budget front over the trip to Cleveland. But what a long drive from Santa Barbara to Anaheim (Google says 3 hours), with all the risks of CA traffic. Perhaps take a sick day if you decide to go also to the Wednesday game and revel in the experience; I have a hunch Tribe fans will be flocking to Anaheim in the event of such an historic Wednesday game.

Good luck to you and all Tribe fans!!!

Default Most amazing win streak factoid?

<<It's a remarkable, dominant stretch of baseball. The Indians have trailed just four innings in the 21 games, have needed just three one-run victories, and have obliterated their opponents on both sides of the ball with a plus-104 differential -- that's an average winning margin of 4.95 runs per game.>>

Over at 22.

I was sad to see them break the A's AL record of 20 games in a row, but records are made to be broken. Hopefully the Tribe will not end up like the A's and instead go all the way this year.

Why would you be sad to see the record be broken? One could say that it's the entire point of keeping the record in the first place.

Best stretch of baseball anyone has ever seen and likely will ever see in this lifetime. Wow.

Now let's focus on a championship .

I'm with you there, it's time for the Tribe to get redemption. It would be cool if two Cleveland teams won titles within a year of each other that'll give some of the national media another reason to hate us. LOL!

Sometimes I hate what's happened to sports in this country.

I'm an A's fan from Oakland. Still rooting for the Tribe this year

Default The evolution of Corey Kluber

Thank Ruben Niebla?

<<Ruben Niebla, the pitching coach, showed Kluber his preferred two-seam fastball grip, and, Niebla recalled this week, Kluber’s first try with the new pitch swept through the strike zone. Do it again, Niebla told Kluber. “And he did it again.” Now try throwing it to the catcher’s glove-side, Niebla told him. “And he dotted it on the corner.”>>

Here's a key reason that the Tribe is posting an historic season:

<<The Indians’ pitching staff, in fact, has been historically good this year. It leads all of baseball with a 3.35 ERA (entering Friday), and its strikeout rate of 10.01 per nine innings would be an all-time record — as if every pitcher on their staff was Pedro Martinez (career rate of 10.04 strikeouts per nine innings).>>
