We're relocating back to the Cleveland area for DH's new job in University Heights. My family is located in Westlake and will most likely be our primary source of childcare. Ideally we would want to live somewhere convenient to Dh's job and my family.

Are there any communities/ rental properties you can suggest that are close to highways (480 would be the most direct route to Uni Heights and West side---I think)?

In my opinion, Lakewood would probably best suit your needs. It wouldn't be too long of a drive to your husband's job or too long to your family in Westlake. Lakewood is also right next to I-90 which goes right into Westlake and also probably the best way to get to University Heights from the westside. Lakewood is a nice city that is very walkable and family friendly. You should also be able to find plenty of nice homes that you could rent or buy.
