We moved here to Wilmington 4 years ago from the midwest. We love the Monkey Junction area. Our son is grown but the high school here is Ashley High and a very nice school, we have been there for functions. We don't know alot about the elementary schools, but this is to us the better part of Wilmington. Stay away from downtown as there is crime as in any city. However, during the day, downtown Wilmington is beautiful and very historical. As far as jobs, being from the midwest, the pay is not that great here, but like anywhere, it depends on where/what Company you go to. You really can't beat the beauty of the ocean/beaches here. As far as NC as a whole we found it has everything, Mountains, Ocean, Lakes, Country, etc. A good website is visitnc.com. Hope we helped!
