We are coming down for a 3 day/2 night visit to immerse ourselves in the community. I'm curious about the different neighborhoods. Is there a substantial difference in the different neighborhoods as far as feeling and demographics? We are looking to purchase either a lot or possibly a resale for a permanent move within the next 3-5 years. How can I find out more about the different neighborhoods in St James? Any input greatly appreciated!

The Reserve is considered high end-larger, more expensive homes. Some areas have smaller lots and homes-Seaside, Cottages, Georgetown. They will probably point that out to you. The original 3 sections: Founders, Players, and Members have a mix of home sizes. There are a few condo complexes. I don’t know much about the newest section, Legacy. We’re in the oldest section of Players.

SJ is mostly 55+ age group, majority from the NE states, especially NJ. There are several groups geared for people from different states that have get-togethers. To describe the feel of different neighborhoods would be hard. I think people tend to find their niche through their hobbies, sports they engage in, church, etc.

There is a long comment thread about St. James here, but the last few pages are hurricane Florence announcements. There may be something interesting further back in the replies and comments there.

People here are pretty helpful. If you’re considering a particular street or neighborhood, knock on a nearby door or chat with someone in their yard about their impressions. We’ve both asked and answered queries in previous homes and were happy to help. Good luck! It’s become a large development.

Yea it's pretty diverse in economic status, but if you're thinking about racial diversity... then no just no

It looks like the OP hasn’t posted since 4/2019. I looked back as some of his/her older posts and seems they did buy a lot and build in ST James.

Most of the former St. James posters have been inactive.
