It will be hard to buy in the price range you mentioned and be on the water in Wilmington. I would suggest looking for the type of home you want with the amenties you prefer and see if anything appeals to you in this area in your price range. The housing market in Wilmington is tight, and rent rates are very high. You might have more luck looking in neighboring Pender and Brunswick counties.
You may miss the availability of lobsters in Maine. Since we came here 2 years ago from Maryland, I have not seen lobster in the grocery store, not even frozen tails. There are plenty of good fresh shrimp, scallops and fish however.
I don't know where you shop. We have bought lobster tails several times at Fresh Market and Costco.
