Looking to move to JAX. I dont want to get in a run down or seedy part of town.
I dont need the Hi-Brow district of 300K homes either. Looking for good modest neighborhood.
Also dont want in an area where I have to listen to planes from the airport. I lived in a flight zone once & that is enough.
Thanks to ya'll that helped.

I'm not sure where you are going to work, but 98% of Jacksonville is neither run-down nor seedy. You might check the area between Western Blvd and Pine Valley Road. It is a modest middle class neighborhood. Also check the Northwoods area and around Gum Brack Road an Henderson. The only places to "avoid" are the low-rent apartment complexes and public housing. For suburbs, you could check out Hubert, Swansboro, Maysville and Richlands.

BTW, the commercial airport is way out in Richlands. You won't hear those planes from Jacksonville. However, you can hear military helicopters including Ospreys and Sea Stallions at any time. You will also hear artillery fire. That's the fact of life living in Jacksonville.
