Something a little more quite and less packed than Wrightsville or Emerald Isle.

North Topsail is the most low-key beach I know of. Are you making a day-trip, or staying in a hotel? There are only a couple of hotels, and IDK what they do about reservations.

We are hoping to make a day trip to either N Topsail or Surf City; however, the rain now looming may throw a wrench in those plans.

Nah just a Saturday day trip. Trying to aviod all the really busy beaches that would have no parking.

Maybe the weather forecasts will scare off all the day-trippers. There are many parking areas at North Topsail and Surf City, but I can't comment on their availability. We locals avoid going on the weekends.

There's an 80% chance of rain Sat & Sun, and 40% chance Mon, at Topsail Beach. Not much different elsewhere, I suspect.
