The StarNews article mentions that pending leases on attached retail spaces included

1. a nail salon,
2. a mattress company and
3. a 2,800 sq. ft. women’s clothing boutique

Speculation on my part, but the Live Oak Village Shopping Center, where the the CVS and LowesFoods are moving from, currently has these tenants,

1. NC Nail Spa
2. Fred's Beds
3. Peebles

That could be if they move but that only leaves the bookstore, Papa John's, and San Felipe. That would be an empty run-down shopping center. Besides a carwash in the new center, a carwash is opening where the old Atlantic Seafood was. How many do we need, lol? There are 2 more further down 211 towards downtown.

Rumor now is Castucci's is relocating to Southport Crossing, not Falcone and D's.

Just rumors ..... Castucci's is going nowhere, they just bought the property next door for more parking to enable an addition to the existing building for more tables and a bar.

If thats true, I hope they will move the tables further apart and install some sound baffling to lower the noise level. Its so crowded and loud in there now.

Not understanding your post. I've been in a lot of italian restaurants and they don't all have the tables extremely close together, nor are they all extremely loud. Is "joint" a northeastern code word for crowded and loud? I'm not familiar with that...here in NC we have bbq joints, but it doesn't mean loud and crowded.

Well Ed ... since ya can't get in the joint because they're so busy selling people their Italian food .... I would suggest not going there if ya don't care for the ambiance ... but that's just me .... I like it there.

Yep, I don't and I don't. Too many better options in Southport.
