Stumbled upon River Landing this weekend. We were unable to enter as you need an appointment Looking for pros and cons. Flood issues, HOA dues, availability of natural gas How many homes when built out?

Prior posts are from 2019 and look forward to any new information.

.......
You might look into the newest section, The Vineyards. It is further away from the areas near the rivers which flooded. An ex-neighbor is moving in there shortly, and they are happy with the one-level home they found. There are still many open lots there, if you want a custom built. I do not know the expected built-out size, but it might be available thru the website.

I also would have questions about how much the ponds flooded during the Florence hurricane. Natural gas is available, as I see many resales advertised with gas stoves. Some people appreciate a gated communities, but others don't care for them.

RL seems a bit strange to me as it is an island of very affluent people, surrounded by a rural county with a low median income. I would wonder about how accepting the local people are. I also have concerns about services available. For example, there are only a couple of local doctors, and you would have to go to Burgaw or Wilmington for specialists.

My wife and I are interested in purchasing in River Landing, after looking at several other communities. Can anyone point out some of the 'cons'? We want to go in with our eyes open and know all the good and bad of the place so we can make an educated decision. We would love to hear from current residents.

See my above comments for negatives. One other is that RL does not have an indoor pool, and there is no local YMCA to compensate.
One other plus is that lots are spacious and reasonable compared to Compass Pointe and St James. The are several local custom builders if you wish to build.
