Not sure which post you're responding to, but the original post is 7 years old and some things have changed...Cape Fear Restaurant is now Oliver's, for example.

I missed that! Geez and sometimes I wonder why people respond to posts that are years old. Now I know.

Frankly, I wish this site would lock old posts. It would eliminate a lot of confusion.

Remember, most restaurants have online menus. I am sure that would be a big help in planning your visits. I personally like the simple little grills and smaller places with non-fancy menus. The BBQ House on Oak Island and Eric's Grill in Southport near Wal Mart are my favorites.

Traditional favorite in that area, almost, is Ella's of Calabash. We went there a couple weeks ago when we were in Myrtle Beach.

Good idea to call ahead about Thanksgiving.

Harris Teeter Super Markets at Southport will probably prepare your meal to take home. They usually stay open until lunch on Thanksgiving so you can pick up your meal.

Well, I asked for Southport.

There is a KFC in Wilmington. Don't know if they prepare Thanksgiving dinner or not but it would be logical that they might.

There is a Bo Jangles on 17 near Bolivia that might prepare Thanksgiving meals too.

https://www.bing.com/search?q=Food+L...9065276887Food Lion is right there on Oak Island. Google and call them.

Except that there is no Harris Teeter in Southport.

Calabash is an hour from Southport. As noted above, there is no HT in Southport. Closest one is in Leland, 30 minutes away. If Goldenage is interested in KFC or Bojangles (which i doubt will be open on T'giving) they are both in Southport...no need to go to Bolivia or Wilmington.

The Lowes at Midway offered a take out Thanksgiving dinner last year. They did have some problems with some of the orders, which may have due to the staff being new.
