I have a fossil of a fish .
I could get technical and say the molecules in everything I own, or the dirt in my backyard :P
But collectibles wise I have a Nazi medal that my grandfather brought back. It was the kind awarded to German citizens who did a "good dead" for their Country. No idea who owned it or what the dead was.
Also have an old silver dollar mold from a counterfeiter. It was made from marble and a really large iron nut that was the perfect dimension for a silver dollar. I guess they casted lead into it. It was passed down from my great grandfather.
I have a Tribute Penny, minted during the reign of the Roman Emperror Tiberius (14AD-37AD). It's in fair-good, probably worth $100-$150. It came in a jar full of old coins my grandmother gave me, though none of the other coins pre-date the 19th century. I have no idea the circumstances under which she acquired it.
I also have a pair of simple wooden bookends made in shop class by my grandfather, probably between about 1932 and 1936. They are of much more value to me than the coin.

You reminded me - I do have something older - I have a Byzantine ring as well as a medieval ring. I totally forgot about those two items!

and you reminded me, I have 2 rings and an amulet from Medieval times or before but I am unsure of the dates right now because I currently have the memory of a dead ant, I would have to look up the paperwork for the details.
Both of these instances happened over 10 years ago.
We were given a framed picture of Joseph, and Mary, with baby Jesus by a friend who died at 92. Before she died, she told us that picture had been owned by her mother, so it had to have been at least 100 years old.
Our neighbor gave me a big, 10 gallon crock when he was in his late 80's, and told me that it had been in his family since he was a kid.
A Universal 9410 Sweetheart Toaster from the late 1920s. It is actually still new. Grandparents got it as a gift and it was considered too special even then to use that it was covered up and put away. Even have the original cardboard info tags too.
I would like to know, what is the oldest thing that you like to own and what is your favorite thing that you have?
I have a book of poems from 1712. Author is someone named John Gay. I have no idea who he is, I only know that the book was passed down from generation to generation. condition of the book is about 60%.
I have though of getting it restored, but would not know if I could actually trust it to someone.
