- Notre Dame def. Oregon 28-23. In a nail bitter, the Irish, down in the 4th Quarter 23-21 is backed into their own 7 yard line with just 1:27 to go, Quarterback Everett Golson leads Notre Dame down the field with NO field goals in mind. After the touchdown, only 10 seconds remained on the clock. Oregon tries for a Hail Mary, but fumbles away a bobbled snap to Notre Dame to end it, sending them to their first opportunity for a National Title in more than 15 years.
- Alabama def. Florida 47-10. 'Bama continues its dominance in the SEC (discounting Texas A&M, of course) by running over the Gators in a 47-10 beat down, ending Florida's dream of playing for a 4th National Title in their own state. Alabama, on the other hand, is turning their focus to Notre Dame to take a 3rd National Title under Saban and would love to do it against the other big name program in college football history.
Oregon would have beaten Alabama. All you have to do is look at how TAMU beat them.
But Notre Dame? Unless the entire Alabama first team comes down with intestinal flu two days before the game, I'd say no way in hell. If the Irish win, I promise that I'll be back on this thread to eat crow.
Well, I'm not even gonna bother with the score because here in the fictional world, Bama won the title as well.....
Pretty boring this time around. lol.
