I am 34, and I just went back to school last year. I will not be done with school until I am at least 38! It makes me feel depressed at times. Did any of you guys go back to school in your 30s or later and how did you do finding a job after you graduated?
I went back to school at 29, earning my B.A. at 32; then back to grad school at 49, finishing my M.S. at 50.
Finding a job at 32 was more difficult than at 50, but not impossible -- and the degree created opportunities later on that simply wouldn't have existed without it.

Did you earn your BA i only 3 years? I can barly do more than 10 hours per semester right now
I went to college for the first time at 33. Graduated at 41 with a BS. There were plenty of undergrad students around my age at my college.
I'm now working f/t in a job that is not exactly related to my degree, but I would not have gotten this job w/out my degree.

So how come it took you so much longer to reach your BA. Did you drop out and came back? Are you planning on going for your Masters?
I got my undergrad degree at 26 - I had been a working adult who went back to college full-time just a few yrs older than my friends who had gone straight from high school.
I am now 40 and my goal is to get my Masters degree by 50. I am progressing through a series of steps that will get me to the intermediate goal of being a good candidate for the program and applying to the program. At times it feels weird, and as far as a job goes, one of those steps I am taking should give me something to build on as a job.
I have to take a class on campus this term b/c it has a lab component (Chemistry). If you ask me in about 3-4 weeks, after the first week of classes, I will let you know how weird it feels!

I'd attended college on and off since high school, so was able to transfer in as a sophomore. I did finish my Masters in less than two years, as I took summer classes and "overloaded" one semester.

I started school at 34 and finished my grad studies at 37; it was difficult because I had a wife and two kids depending on my income.
Undergrad took about two years with full-time school and full-time work in the Air Force. I was recruiting, so my schedule was very flexible.
Grad studies took a year and required a separation from AD. I did get a stipend and tuition and books from Uncle Sam for my years of service.
It was very tough and I had a lot of people telling me I was making a mistake, but I knew I was doing the right thing all along. I had the full support of my wife as I made the switch and that really helped me keep going when things were difficult.
I was hired very quickly after gaining my teaching certification; it was within a week. I was called for five interviews, went on three, and was hired while driving from one interview to another.
I can honestly tell you that in my experience it has been well worth it- I love what I'm doing and I'm having fun teaching the students. Stick with it- I'm sure there are times that are rough, but if you don't see it through to completion you'll never know what could have been. Further, in my experience it never hurts you to become educated.
