I am currently a senior in high school here in Oklahoma and am considering applying out of state. I've always had a love for S.C and it's beauty wanted some opinions on USC and wondered of out of state admissions is very competitive, also how good are the scholarships they offer to non-residents?
This is a very competitive school. College Navigator - University of Southern California Only 24% are accepted and of the students that are accepted, 75% have SAT scores of 720 Reading, 750 Math and 740 Writing. Cost is $50,00+ I don't see a breakdown on financial aid to residents vs. non-residents. Since it's a private college, there is no discount for being in-state. You might want to look at the other USC - University of South Carolina. It also has nice warm weather, but is quite a bit less expensive. About The University of South Carolina
From what I have gathered on this board and from other college boards is that there isn't a lot of money to be had in schools in the Carolina's and much of the east coast. There have been a few kids I know that have applied to USC and even with their golf scholarships they couldn't touch the aid/scholarships, etc. they got at the smaller, private schools here. One boy we know, in particular, was heavily recruited by USC to play golf, offered a generous golf scholarship, but nothing else to speak of--some merit money but not much-top student, great grades, etc. He is attending a smaller, private school here, paying next to nothing after his merit aid, etc.

What other out-of-state schools are you considering?
