It's cheaper and they use the same standards as the UK. Why isn't there a mass flock of people going to India? I've checked out the top 10 rated schools in India and they look pretty good.

Other than IIT, where would you go? If you can get into IIT, you can get scholarships to go to MIT.

It's overcrowded, dirty and dangerous for women. Rape and sexual harrassment is very, very common in India and it's not taken seriously by Indian law enforcement. I prefer the high quality of life in the Western world.

We have an office in India and I have been there on many occasions. One thing I've learned is that you can't coat the entire country the same. There are parts that are ass-backwards. There are parts that are perfectly fine. There's so much disconnect in culture from city to city. It's sad.

Living in India is a nightmare because of the poor sanitary condition.

Where do you live? If you can live with parents and commute to a state college in your home city, you will save a lot.

Unfortunately, there's only a limited number of cities with decent public colleges.

Yes, I'm sure that there are a few safe, clean upper class areas in India, but as a whole country?

Most major cities have decent public colleges, but different people may have different ideas about what a decent college is supposed to be.

If OP is willing to go to India for college, I guess he is also willing to attend schools like university of houston, university of memphis, central florida university, new mexico state univeristy....

Community college and AP credits help reduce the total cost as well.

Flying to India alone costs thousands of dollars. Not worth it!
