This doesnt apply to me, but a friend. As of now she is an lpn, but wants to become an Rn. If she where to start schooling in one area at one of those nation wide schools ( phoenix university or kaplan etc) could she finish her education in another state at one of those schools

Depends on the school and if the credits will transfer. Do some research about Phoenix & Kaplan. Phoenix had a major
law suit filed...not sure of the results. Links below about the lawsuit and student reviews and complaints.
