Okay, I know a lot of students leave class early out of boredom, etc.
I never do that, I try to make it to all of my classes unless I'm feeling really crappy.
So today I left class half an hour early. I just couldn't take it anymore. The stress of still not finding a job and thinking about my crappy situation really got to me. I was a lost cause in terms of focusing on the lecture....I seriously wanted to cry.
So, I just walked out. I did it as discreetly as possible but I felt some people staring at me as I left. I did not mean to be disrespectful...I just couldn't take it anymore.
This was a review class before a test.
Should I email the professor to explain that I had to leave cause I wasn't feeling well?
Just play it off...he probably didn't notice I left.
Hmmm...I've earned an Associates, Bachelors and two Master's Degree's and never walked out of a class and only missed one or two classes in my academic programs due to physically not being in the area (out of town for work). I certainly would not leave a class because "I just couldn't take it anymore" but if I did I would definitely let the Professor know why I left and apologize for any disruption it caused. If nothing else just to reinforce that I take the class seriously and it wasn't held against me come grade time.
Some of my graduate program classes were 4.5 hours long of lectures and I stuck around for all of them. The ones that left early were known to be the ones that didn't put in the effort and I'm sure their grade reflected such.
I took a class that had a one hour lecture, a fifteen minute break, followed by another one hour lecture.
On several occasions someone would leave during the break. On night more than half the class left at the break. We came back into the room and there were very few students present. The instructor said "It looks like a good time for a pop quiz." He gave us a single simple math problem and let us go early.
If possible, it's always best to avoid leaving class early.
I would talk to the professor in office hours. I know it depends on the professor, but if one of my students told me about a situation like this I would be pretty concerned and direct them to some useful resources. (Because it sounds like there is a risk that you are depressed, and you certainly sound like you could use some career counseling too.)

Thanks...I don't want to come across as someone to pity either. I figured I would just explain to him that I was feeling sick/had a bad headache and that I hope I wasn't a distraction or something along those lines. I don't want it to seem like I don't care.....I do....I'm a non-traditional student.
My job hunt really did make me feel depressed. I'm not typically this way. I have too much going on right now.
Whats there to explain? If you want to leave then leave. Profs dont give 2 craps unless they have a giant ego. Dont go crying though if you get a low score.

Maybe at the college you went to; nobody just walked out of class at mine.
If you're not going to ask for a recommendation...and you're sure you won't be on a grade borderline...what does it matter?
