I didn't say if it's bad or good. As I recall, I suggested you check out Nat'l Film Board of Canada.
But I know a guy who's been working on other people's films and TV shows since he was in college, all his adult life, and he's done very well at it. He has a broad background in music, though, and enjoys the creativity of it. He's also done nature films for public television in the US, with his own sound scores. It all depends on what kind of niche you can carve out for yourself.
BTW, do you have a college degree? Just wondering. It doesn't sound like it, by the type of work experience you've mentioned in the past.
