Trying to decide which degree to pursue is a tough task. Especially that this would be my last degree and a lot of time and money will be invested, so naturally I want to make the right decision. I'm currently working in Info. Tech for the past 9 yrs. This experience would most likely direct me towards the MIS degree rather than the MBA. Although MIS is definitely more specialized, your pretty much relegated to the IT field. Now I'm hearing MBA degrees are overrated and the market is saturated with MBA candidates, but I could always switch over to the business side with that degree instead of staying in IT for an entire career. I have an Associates, which I got the traditional route and a BA which I completed online, so I'll most likely go the traditional route for my Masters.
Should I really be concerned with name recognition when choosing a school. I have a small private school close by me that offers an MBA, but I'm not sure if I should choose a bigger school that recruiters will recognize immediately when looking at my resume????
