Hey everyone,

I have lived in cos for almost 4 years and my sister recently moved in with us while she gets on her feet in town. She is looking at renting a townhouse, house or apartment but is having trouble finding a place because of her pit bull. Does anyone Know of places that accept bully breeds? I live near Palmer Park, and she works near corporate Dr and woodmen, so she is trying to find a place central to those locations, but with the issues she is having she would go anywhere in the springs.

The dog is super friendly, he doesn't have an ounce of aggression in him. Please don't turn this into a discussion on bully breeds, not interested in starting an argument! Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Brian

That dog is on most insurance companies "banned dog" lists so you may have issues if the Landlord agrees.

Most good landlords will actually want to meet the pet to see if it what you say it is too, also to get a sense of how well trained the dog is.

I am an ex-landlord and always allowed dogs and never had a problem. Yours sounds like a great buddy!

Good luck!

There is pretty much no way you'll find an apartment complex willing to accept a pit, sadly. Your sister's only option will be to rent from a private owner. The property management companies won't allow pits either. I went through this years ago when we were coming to Colorado Springs with our rottweiler. I've always found my rentals on militarybyowner.com, although there are other list sites. The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region might be a good resource if there is something I don't know about. Good luck to her and her dog.
