At the corner of Austin Bluffs and Dublin they have put up traffic signs where they can post messages. The one up there the last few days made me laugh:

"Too many pedestrians are injured by cars turning right at intersections."

It made me wonder...what is the appropriate number of pedestrians injured by cars turning right at intersections?

The city has installed these small units at several intersections through out town.

The one at Fillmore and Nevada has been instructing people to treat traffic signal outages as a four way stop because you don't want to be as inconsiderate as that other guy who isn't stopping.

Instead you could turn left, but then that is when most car accidents happen.

I know! A distracting sign would help!

I saw someone who seemed distracted, rear end someone else on the northern bit of Academy today. They were right by me. Thankfully moving very slow...but yeah, crunch. It appeared that the at-fault person was driving a nicer, newer vehicle, and that they mangled their grill pretty good, but the folks who got hit in the backside had an older truck and I didn't see much if any damage.

People need to pay attention to what they're doing.

I think we could do without a distracting sign with some Captain Obvious message on it at an intersection.

Yes, in in that vein, the little notice that pops up occasionally on the screen of my car console telling me to not be distracted by what appears on the screen.
