HI ALL,
We are in Guffey co, and I am writing to find out the best places for food, gas and buidling materials! have no clue yet, so any information is helpful. we love it here, but its time for a game plan on daily living, grocery stores, clorhing for kids, and we need to finish our basement as an office and bedroom, so hardware and building supplies are a must, as well as gardening tools and seeds. as you can see all info is appreicated.

Colorado Springs is probably your biggest city close but I think Canon City is closer by highway 9. We have an Ace (which I prefer) and a Home Depot. Both have building supplies. There a Wal Mart., Alco, Safeway. City Market (Krogers) Feed stores, greenhouses, garden stores. Other assorted stores in town. Then Pueblo and then the Springs are another 40 miles going this way by 50 and 115. Go meet your neighbors. There is a favorite coffee stop for locals in the town of Guffey. Go met the locals. There is your best help. Talk to the shop owners. They can tell you the best way to travel in bad weather etc.

Thanks Nadine! I was thinking Canon City is the place for us to go, as well as Woodland Hills(?). I'm REAL happy to find out about the greenhouses and nurseries, I have a lot of planting planned
Thank you very much for the info, it helps me out quite a bit.
Now, I am on to learning about altitude sickness. With 5 kids, I need to be up on the symptoms
:0)
