Strong father, weak son.

Waste Connections has been on a downhill slide for half a decade. We used to use them at work, but after many years of incremental increases and missed pick-ups without follow up, we price shopped competitors, found significant savings elsewhere. We told WC we are out of here. At that point they called trying to save the relationship when I pointed out in the 5 years I had worked at the company, Ihad to call them at least several times a year about missed pick-ups, they had NEVER contacted me to discuss service, and had only ever increased pricing. The sales rep apologized for this, saying they had just started there and were in the process of contacting customers and just hadn't got to me yet. Too bad, so sad, we were gone.

You folks in Colorado Springs have a choice on your waste company? Wow! We have no choice where I live and the service has been going downhill, supposedly because the company can't find enough drivers.

But our city keeps renewing their contract. :-(

Yeah out here cities don't do contracts with trash companies - each person has to find their own service. Or, sometimes an HOA will contract service on behalf of its residents.

Unless you live in Manitou Springs, in which case you don't have a choice because the town contracted with GFL. Only apartment complexes can choose who they use.

Bestways was bought out by GFL (a Canadian-based company) - so far I am not impressed with their customer service. You can count on being on hold forever. You can expect that if you leave a message, they will not get back to you. They've raised our trash service several times in the past year.
