Do you think Denver and Colorado Springs could one day become a CSA? Why and why not?

No. They are separated by 60 miles. I don't know of any CSA that is 60 miles in diameter.

I sure do hope not! I am not anti-growth but that would be a little too much! The growth rate at Colorado Springs did slow down in the last 10 years, so maybe the city will be able to catch up with some of the infrastructure issues that have plagued it for so long.

A developed corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs is (thankfully) still many years away. Hopefully such a thing exists only in fantasy.

There is a large expanse of land, the Greenland Open Space (GOS), that is set aside to never be developed. As best I can from memory, this open space begins at the northern boundary of El Paso County, i.e., County Line Road, and proceeds north for quite a few miles, to north of Larkspur. Hopefully this area will not be developed.

COLO SPGS will generally expand to the east and south, with lots of infill space on the north side to the county line. If the military footprint here should decline it will make local expansion relatively moot.

For sure the Denver metro area can expand east of I-25 all the way to Kansas if they want, but is limited on the west side by the foothills and on the south by the GOS.

To be honest because of what has been said I do not envision a Denver/ Colorado Springs CSA however in time I think there will be a Colorado Springs/ Pueblo CSA as both of those cities merge together. They are already one media market and when I have talked to local law enforcement they consider it one area as well.

I have to say I agree with Josseppie, I think its far more likely that Colorado Springs and Pueblo will eventually merge into a CSA. Having said that, the Front Range is very connected from Pueblo all the way up to Cheyenne, Wyoming. It's not continuous development though, and there is space between each metro region.

Which is why the region from Pueblo to Cheyenne is called the Front Range Urban Corridor but that is different then a actual CSA that the OP is referring to.
