My wife, 5 kids (6-14yrs) and I fallen in LOVE with Colorado, and are planning to move in June. Before moving we're planning to visit one more time to look at potential neighborhoods. Can you help us create a list to drive through when we're there?

Here's our current wish list criteria, to help narrow down the options:

- Master planned community (ie, accessible shared pool, park, etc) w/ lots of kids
- Home prices from $400-700k with at least some walkout lots/homes
- Hills in yards and/or neighbirhood for my kids to sled on
- Open/green spaces
- Bike paths/trails
- Mountain views (backyard preference, but at least some view from the community)
- We'd like to live in a smallish neighborhood/community (under 400-500 homes?) that's within 15-20 mins of a good retail area

Regarding the "master planned community" aspect - we found one in Windsor that we all fell in love with, High Pointe Estates. It has all of the things I mentioned above, but wondered what others we should consider?

Thanks in advance!

In COLO SPGS look at Cordera. There's info in that forum on Cordera, find it easy with the search tool.

Those communities are all over the front range. Except for the sledding hill. Where is work? Do you want new, newer or established?

Flying Horse in North Colorado Springs. It's pricey but has a lot of those things.

@2beindenver, I work from home. We like new, but not stuffy. Bummer about the lack of potential sledding hills. That's a biggie for my kids. It doesn't have to be big. Just something they could take a 5-10 second slide down

@doodlemomcos, Flying Horse looks beautiful. Do you know if it has a high turnover rate, due to being so close to the base? Would hate to have our kids' best friends moving away all the time. Is that a reality in North COS?

Flying Horse seems pricey for the military, and I wonder how it is at the "stuffy" criteria?
