One of the most common questions out-of-staters ask a Coloradan is, “At what elevation do deer turn into elk?” Well, we finally have an answer for you.

Pretty funny. I've never been asked but I'm not a native.

Are there ski lifts in the parking lot of Mile High Stadium?
Like, wow, are you people high all the time?
Why can't I have a pond in my backyard in the middle of the mountains?
What cute safe small town has great schools and is within 10 minutes of downtown Denver?
Is it Coloradan or Coloradoan?

One of my favorites from my days on ski patrol:
Where do the ski areas store the moguls during the summertime? I never see the bumps on the mountains in the summer.

Another favorite from my days on the river:
So after our rafting run, will we be back at the start where we parked the cars?

No, but I've been in a gondola (made by Doppelmayr) in downtown La Paz, Bolivia. The city is in a valley and people cut their commutes from the suburbs, several thousand feet above the city, by 30-45 minutes by using one of 4 gondolas.

Skydog - on a related note, on the conditions board at Keystone, where they list groomed, etc., one phrase they frequently use is moguls/bumps. Is there a difference between moguls and bumps? Why list both terms?

Moguls are for men, bumps are for boys! (I'm guessing the size of them)

I think they probably use both terms for tourists who don't know what moguls are? Who knows what Vail Resorts is talking about.

How can I drive across Colorado without going through any mountains? Well take I-25 south to Albuquerque...

Is it always this brown? (asked in all 4 seasons) No, usually it's browner.

Why is everyone in Colorado so hung up on water? Because WE control the headwaters of the Colorado River! Bwah ha ha ha!

If I move to the San Luis Valley will I have to speak Spanish? Nah, only if you want to talk to your neighbors, Pilgrim.

What's your secret spot to get away from all the tourists? Just you and me? I don't think so.

Do they ever ask anything about Coors Light beer? Since the Rocky Mountains are in the logo.

I thought everyone in Colorado is red since Colorado means red in Spanish.
