Arizona Public Radio piece on "amenity towns," focusing of Flagstaff, but could be Durango or many of the small, attractive towns discussed as going to sprawl, high housing, etc.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. I just moved to Bend, OR from CO and the same can be said here. Right now my husband and I cannot afford a house in the location we want. Even a small lot (0.10 acre) in an established neighborhood in going for almost $150-$200K! However, with the recent mortgage crisis the market is finally leveling off and beginning to fall. We just hope we will be able to catch the bottom so we can own a house. We love the city and all that is has to offer, but it certainly is poverty with a view!
