Myself and my significant other are thinking of relocating this November/December from busy Houston, Tx to Colorado. We aren't quite sure where the best spot to relocate would be.. Any suggestions?

2 People Family
2 Dogs - 1 Lab and 1 Schnauzer
Rent Budget is between 1000-1300
Wanting a 2 Bedroom, 1 to 2 bathrooms
Really want a fenced in yard as well
I work from home as a medical Coder and biller and my spouse works as a lab tech.
We are open minded, 420 Friendly, and pretty laid back kind of young adults

There may not be enough info there to really give you a key-on suggestion. Based on the price you listed and 420 interest, etc., I might suggest looking at the city of Pueblo.

Take a look at Lakewood and Golden. Try to figure what you like & dislike about them. Then use that criteria to find a better place or increase your focus on these 2. Don't like these 2? Give more clues about what you are looking for or make your own guesses and dig into forum / other resources to evaluate them.

Wait, have you BEEN to Colorado? It's kind of a big state with very different areas. You might want to visit first, and stay a few days in mid winter too. Bring lots and lots of money with you. $1,000 a month for rent won't get you much. Anyway, good luck to you.

MammaMaddy, I suggest that you look around on-line for lab tech jobs and salaries. I would imagine that they would be located in the larger population areas, such as Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Ft. Collins, and Grand Junction. Unfortunately, the state of Colorado is very popular right now, and rents are sky high. You should spend some time reading through the many posts on this forum to get acquainted with these different areas.
