i have a question about canon city and colorado in general, i see that colorade especially canon city had the largest population of kkk members in the united states. does it still have some of that mentality there?
I mean, it is possible to have a racisim issue no matter where you are, and with reading the link above, I can see that there may be a slightly greater concentration per capita in certain areas due to generations of ideology... and the Lord only knows what you might find futher in the sticks of any state. I have lived in several different places in four states, and there is a degree of racisim to them all. Truth is, any small "towny" kind of place might have a set degree of beliefs that have been pounded in to the minds of the residents for decades or better.
Though, I'm sure the issue has gotten a ton better than it was in the 40's. It was weird making the jump form a western state to an eastern state, because it seemed to me that the majority of the racisim was from colored people towards white people. I am not racist in the least, but "cracker" is a racist comment, and is sits among the many others that directed to other ethnicities.
I've never noticed much racism in Colorado (well....maybe a little bit of reverse discrimination of blacks/mexicans against whites), so you shouldn't have much to worry over. It isn't nearly as bad as in other states.

Holy Roger...people are still into that? I live in the south and do not
hear about stuff like that anymore...ignorance is everywhere I suppose!
It might just have something to do with the fact that there is a very large prison near Canon City.
