Hmm, high wind warning. Must've been taken in the last couple days. Winds been brutal up here. Hard to complain though, it was close to 60 when I got home yesterday. Nice pics!!!

All these pictures were taken yesterday (Thursday). It was a beautiful day, totally sunny, abnormally warm for this time of year. Despite the wind advisory signs, at Loveland it wasn't windy at all.
It felt more like spring skiing than the stereotypical dead of winter.

Yeah the wind had pretty much died down yesterday. I drove over to Frisco and it was probably in the 50's over there too. What a gorgeous day for January!! Gotta love Colorado!

The house is called the "Deaton House". You can google it. Charles Deaton was a known architect in Denver in the 1940's to 1970's. The house was restored in the late 1990's and furnished.

I love Georgetown, don't get me wrong. Been through there many times on the way to Guanella Pass. I like that one gift shop that sells the Russian stuff in the back. And I like their old school grocery/general store that looks like it hasn't changed a day in 100 years. But Georgetown is pretty much completely invisible from I-70 westbound and is pretty much hidden from I-70 eastbound too other than for a few split seconds. All these photos here were shot by me sitting in the passenger seat of the moving car, with no stops between Denver & Loveland. Another one of my favorite little east slope towns not pictured at all is Empire. There's a place there called "Dairy King," haven't eaten there since I was a little kid, but remember it as awesome. Next summer when I'm back home in Denver (hopefully permanently this time) there will be some more photo tours.
