Hi! We are looking to move to Irmo, SC. We are interested in a house in Ridgecreek Subdivison. We have children who will attend River Springs Elementary and Crossroads Middle. I would greatly appreciate any information on the area. We are used to living in the country so a subdivision will be a huge change for us!

Good subdivision, good schools. What kind of info you looking for? Have you visited yet?

Thanks Brandon! I have not yet visited by my husband has. He was really impressed with the neighborhood and I was really impressed with the schools. I guess I am just looking for any info I can find. Searching Ridgecreek Subdivision does not bring up much info. I have done extensive research on the schools. I am nervous about living in a subdivision but we have been told that there are no HOA's and restrictions in this neighborhood. I would like to know... quiet neighborhood? Friendly? Kids in the area? I am really curious about bus stops. I guess that may sound crazy but in our small town, the bus stops at every house. I am wondering how far the kids will have to go to get to the school bus stop...? Will both schools pick up at the same bus stop?

There are covenants and restrictions in Ridgecreek. I think there are also minimal HOA dues but I would need to check on that. The C&R are pretty standard and are there to protect the neighborhood value. I would consider it a good, quiet, friendly neighborhood. It's very close to the schools. Not sure how the bus route runs but probably drops them off at intersections in the neighborhood. You should call the school district and find out about that one.

If you're looking for no C&R most of the newer n'hoods have them. White Hall, Coldstream, Quail Valley and some of those may be a better fit. What is important to you in a subdivision?

If you want info on bus stops check this page:

Departments

It lists contacts that can give you the info. I'm in the same county but a different district and also live in a subdivision. Our buses pick up elementary school kids at each house and pick up middle and high schoolers at central intersections. They are very receptive to adding additional stops if the demographics warrant.

Did you end up purchasing a home in Ridgecreek? If yes, how did you adapt? We too like a property in that neighborhood and are thinking about making an offer.
