HI!

We just moved here from Boston and looking for recommendations for schools for my 7th grade son. He plays baseball, soccer and basketball. Likes golf too but hasn't played much. We are giving it a go at Carolina Springs middle as we heard and read it is an award winning school. Everyone seems nice but he's not really making connections there. He's always had lots of friends and hasn't made any here yet. He's a personable kid and does well academically. (Solid A/B student). I know its a tough age, so that plays a part too. We love Lexington, our neighborhood and new home but I want to make sure I've got him in the right school, that's a good fit for him.
Oh!- AND- Ben Lippen is not an option. My oldest is in college and that tuition price is out of our league!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Has he tried out for the teams at the school? Does he have other interest in clubs or other activities? Do some of the kids in the neighborhood go to the school? If he doesn't take the bus y'all could try carpooling and other things like that.

Otherwise if those aren't options, then for private school Hammond or Heathwood may work.

Schools in Lexington County are considered among the best in the state. He will not be needing his hockey skates...LOL

Thank you! We are looking in to one is the baseball training facilities. He’s going to try out for the middle school team so hoping that helps!
The teachers seem great. We haven’t run into any kids his age in the neighborhood yet but with the holidays, people are busy and not outside as much I guess. We’ll keep trying! I drive him to school but if we can find any kids in the neighborhood I’d be happy to drive them too so it helps him make some connections.
We’ll take a look at those 2 private schools too. :-)
We are retiring the skates I think! lol!
Thanks for the replies!
