I doubt you would be able to get a custom home for that price range.

While you may not get a custom-built home in that price range, you will be ecstatic to see what you can find in the Columbia area for $150,000. Happy hunting.

You'll have choices. Mungo, Great Southern, Shumaker, Colony come to mind but there are many choices. Beazer left Columbia and have great deals on their specs right now.

If you want to live in Lexington, and not too far from Town.

Timberland is a good area for $150-180K. If you want the builder's information, liberty home, you can PM me, I send to you.

Hi! I just posted on another thread about Lake Carolina and was asking about the quality of GS Homes. I notice that they have a lot of communities in the Columbia/Lexington area and are now offering reduced priced on some new construction. If I could find a new home in a nice area for under $150,000, I would be a very happy camper.

How long did you live in your house? I know there are sometimes problems with new homes, so the most important thing to me is customer service. My sister had a custom home built for over $500K in VA and had a leaky roof and other nightmares, so it's not always the price range but the integrity of the builder and his supervisors. I don't expect a palace for $130-$150 but a small, comfortable house in which I can be happy for many years to come.
