I have finally found a home and it's on the 1000 block of Prescott Road. Did I do a good job in choosing a neighborhood? I have two older kids and my husband and I both work. It seems like a decent area. Any insight would be appreciated.

If you are talking about Prescott Road off of N.Main it is okay. The only real crime I know of in that area comes from the apartment complexes though not too far away.

Penny, have you been to see the house you're considering yet? That neighborhood can be kind of hit or miss as far as good vs mediocre or poor. I always say that if you're not sure about whether to move to a particular place you should visit on a Saturday night.

Gotcha! I was there, but it was a Wednesday morning! BUT, we are unable to come back down again before moving because of job requirements, finances, etc. I do appreciate the insight.

Yes, it's definitely hit or miss in that area. Do you have any children? The middle school for that zone is the worst in the district. I work for the district, I can direct you on how to get a transfer if necessary.

No, my kids are 17 and older. Only one left in school, and hopefully only for one more year. What kind of problems should we be worried about with the neighborhood?
