I worked there briefly but i ended up moving abruptly to Savannah, GA on short notice and had to leave unfortunately.

It's a large facility and they have office and manufacturing positions there. I worked on the manufacturing side of things and i can't say that i disliked the job. The only problem i had with it was how far down Bluff Rd it was from my home and working so much. It was times where we worked 20 to 27 straight days.

When you get into the company...the only way you'll get fired is if you cause it yourself...that's only if you are permanent...if you are a temp worker than they are pretty strict on you.

It's areas on the manufacturing area that are "clean areas" [non radiation areas] and other's that aren't. There are parts of the plant that looks like a major nuclear plant and is very dangerous...i mean acidic chemicals and everything all around you and the smell is down right terrible...then it's parts that are only dangerous if you are careless. Most of the older workers there have been there for many many years and make a very good wage...but they were quick to tell me to go back to school and try to get on the office side of the company. The people i worked with made the job enjoyable and most of them won't steer you wrong. Westinghouse is a good company and if you are loyal to them...they seemed to be loyal to you.

I hope that helps some

A friend of mine has worked there for years and hasn't had a whole lot nice to say about it in the past few years. He's 'looking at other opportunites' right now. He recommended I not apply there, even when I was out of work.

Capt.... I just talked with an old friends mother {who has worked there from many years} and I think you may be on to something...she said she was a little frustrated with some things and is really thinking about taking an early retirement...I didn't get to the bottom of it...but i told her i'd stop by this weekend
