Considering a move to Columbia and would like some employment advice. I know the economy has hit every area real hard, but i just thought I'd give it a shot and see what happens. My husband recently got a job in Columbia so we'll be moving soon and I just wanted to get my applications and resumes' on the move. I have college degrees and have worked in social services, telecommunications, and the education field (though am not SC certified). If anyone could give me ANY pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. Im just not one to sit at home, I like to be independent and make my own.......sitting at home does get quite boring.......I currently work for a local non-profit and it is only local so there is no option of transferring.......
Disability Determination Services within the SC Department of Vocational Rehabilitation is going to be hiring in March, I hear. The starting salary for examiner trainees (for which you would qualify) is something like $32,000. It is a hard job and they want only positive people.
