Greetings all

I will possibly be moving to the Columbia area late spring and am looking for suggestions of possible places to live.

Im active, single female in my early 50's who is interested in renting an 2b/2b apartment or condo in an area that has a variety restaurants/drinking establishments, that tend to support / welcome those of a "certain age" and shopping opportunities that include a variety of grocery, small shops, big box store etc. Id like my future home to be in an area where if I choose to take a walk on a summer evening, I wont need a can of mace and an escort. I'll be working downtown so relatively easy access with a commute of less than an hour (my current commute time) to that area is a plus.

I'm currently involved with social group here in the Raleigh NC area that is specifically for those 40+... we gather once or twice a month for happy hour, dinner, concerts, movies and a host of other activities, so I would be VERY interested in knowing if there is a similar group in Columbia.

Suggestions?

You'd be hard pressed to find an hour commute into downtown in Metro Columbia....

Sorry, I meant that you could live just about anywhere in metro Columbia and be well under an hour commute even with traffic.

Heck, you could probably live in 60% of the state and be within an hour of Columbia...
